Tackle It Tuesday

Lots of little things to tackle today.

The biggest thing on my list is 3 laundry baskets full of odds & ends. When the kids clean if they don't know where something goes or more likely don't want to put something away they put it in a basket. Over time that stuff piles up. So today's biggest task is to get those 3 baskets of stuff put where it goes.

So here is today's list:
  • 3 baskets of junk
  • Finish Artemis Fowl 5
  • Read my scriptures & an Ensign article
  • Dishes
  • Laundry
  • Exercise
  • Pay bills
  • Start assembling taxes stuff

No Blog Post In 2 Days??

Hmm what's up with me? No blog post in 2 days and I can't really come up with anything to blog about. I good cleaned my house over the weekend and have sorta taken this week off from housework. We stayed up way to late on Sunday night talking to my brother & SIL and I've still not recovered from not enough sleep.
Brian & I went out on a lunch date today to the Beijing Buffet. So yummy! It just opened up on Bluff street recently and everything we ate was fabulous. Although what I ate was limited. I was so dang proud of myself. 2 chicken teriyaki skewers and then just fruits & vegetables. I'm sure I ate a pound of fresh strawberries & then tons of broccoli, some mushrooms & even a little asparagus.
Last night I went to a Relief Society game night. I didn't get home until nearly 11:00. It was a lot of fun but I was definitely not proud of how much junk I ate last night. We've got some good cooks in our ward!

Kimberly

I was looking at Christi's blog and came across these pictures that had Kim in them.
Kim told me they buried her in the sand. But I laughed when I saw this picture of just her head!
There is a huge group of girls that are Kim's age. I work with a lot of them in the activity day's program from church. This is some of them at Arielle's birthday party last week.

Thanks Tim!

Tim, Kristen & Amelia stopped by on their way to CA. Somehow Tim got roped into cutting my boys hair. Boy did they need it. He did a great job. He'll be coming through town a few times as he heads back and forth while remodeling dad's kitchen. So hopefully in 4-6 weeks when the kids need a cut again he'll be willing to do it again! He even cut Brian's hair too!

My Style of Camping

Smores BBQed in the back yard.

Tent set up in the front yard right outside our bedroom window. Kids in the tent. Adults asleep in their nice soft bed!
Since we didn't ever make it camping we compromised with an at home campout tonight.

Boys Will Be Boys!

I kicked the boys off the computers and told them to find something to do outside. The found soemthing. What could be more fun than making mud?

Snow Canyon State Park

Today we headed out to Snow Canyon State Park to hike and see the Lava Tubes. It was a great hike. I definitely would not want to do it in the summer time! It was plenty warm in March!
We didn't go down this Lava tube. It was the most dangerous of the 3 and with the kids and no flashlights it didn't seem wise.

I'm down in the Lava tube looking up at the rest of the family.
Before we knew it the kids had climbed up to the top of this lookout.

There was a great view from the top.

We didn't bring flashlights but a nice couple lent us 2 of theirs so we could explore the largest lava tube.

Kylie isn't too happy since she got her head bumped on the ceiling!

Kylie made it out happy! She ran the last stretch to the car.

Red Cliffs Recreation

For our spring break adventure today we headed out to Red Cliffs Recreation Area and went on a hike. It's actually a really short hike. Only about 20 minutes of actual hiking. There are several water holes that were filled with icy cold water that the kids & Brian jumped into. It was a great day to hike. Not too hot! Although I bet the kids would have appreciated the water being a little warmer.

Kylie was the first one to jump in. She was a little shocked at the cold water!

Kim, Brad & Bryce all went down the water slide at the first waterhole.

This hike is really pretty in the spring. It's not so green later on in the year.

Brett wouldn't go in so he got "pushed in"
The water was a little cold!
Brian took Kylie down the natural waterslide. She is the only one who was brave enough (or clueless enough) to go!

We've had to borrow uncle Daren's rule "No whimps, no whiney butts" a couple of times. The kids did really good for the most part.
