We Find The Time To Do The Things We Really Want To Do

Women's Conference was wonderful.

Seriously mark your calendars now and plan to go next year!
April 29 & 30, 2010

So what did I learn? What inspired me?

LOTS! But I've found I can't put most of it into words because it was felt rather than heard. The spirit was so strong and it's just hard to put on paper but here is an attempt... I took very few notes.

Women's Conference starts each day with everyone attending an opening session and then you have the chance to choose 3 different classes followed by a closing session.

My favorite class was: "Do do squander time for that is the stuff life is made of."

It was based on this counsel from Thomas S. Monson: "There will be no tomorrows to remember if individuals don't do something today."

2 fabulous women spoke to us.
The first was Becky Arrington who was a former Nashville recording artist who gave up her career for what really matters most - family. She sang a couple songs and shared how and why she choose her family over fame. Beautiful music but my search of the Internet has yielded no results on how to get her music.

The second lady, Laureen Simper said just what I needed to hear. It is usually that way - there is one talk that just speaks to my spirit and this one was it.
Her talk focused on simplifying and choosing the best for our families.
She focused on feeling the Holy Ghost and acting on what we are told to do. How important it is to find quiet, unstructured space so we are able to feel the spirit.
Choosing it ALL is the opposite of choose ye this day whom ye will serve. We can't have it all and do it all we have to make choices in what we will and won't allow and how we will and won't spend our time. We can't let good things (like sports) and better things (like music lessons) crowd out the best things in life (things of the spirit).
I came away with a better understanding that this statement is so true:
We find the time to do the things we really want to do.

In addition to that here is what I gleaned from the other classes I attended:
In the Strength of the Lord I can do all things!
Remember to Keep the Sabbath Day Holy - We must both remember & keep the Sabbath. Remember is internal, the devotions we pay toward God, Keep is external, the outward performances.
The Media - Yikes! I must keep up with what is out there. Filters are good but they are easy to get around so don't think for a minute they will protect your children. Children must be taught to have their own internal filter so they can turn away when they are exposed to filth. Average age of first exposure to pornography is age 8! Limits must be set on the time spent on the internet & video gaming.
Turn on uplifting music to bring the spirit into my home.
Enjoy being a mother. Enjoy the simple things. Take time for my children.
Use the primary songs to teach.
Be slow to anger and quick to forgive.
Pray more, take time to listen to the spirit.
Fight for what is right.
Be a better neighbor.

Loved this Talk by Kevin W. Pearson

One of the talks I absolutely loved was from an unknown to me member of the seventy, Kevin W. Pearson. He was sustained as a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy a year ago. He gave a great talk on Faith and I love all the alliteration in his talk on the 6 "D"s:
Doubt
Discouragement
Distraction
Lack of Diligence
Disobedience
Disbelief

Wow What a Conference!

General Conference today was fabulous. It is so wonderful to be lead by such wonderful inspired leaders. What wonderful messages of hope were given today by so many. I'm looking forward to relistening to and reading the talks that were given today because so many of them were just what I needed to hear.
I'm totally impressed with the new video stream for viewing conference on the internet. Despite living in UT we don't have cable or an antenna that works the only way we can get conference is via the internet. I love that there is the ability to pause, restart and immediately rewatch something. Technology has come a long way!

One of my all time favorite songs...

This is probably my favorite song. My mom died almost 3 years ago. When the call came from my brother that I needed to go back to the hospital because mom wasn't doing well I knew she was dying and I knew it was her time and that it was ok. I sang the words to this song over and over in my head, especially the last part:

And with your final heartbeat, kiss the world goodbye,
And go in peace and laugh on glory's side,
And fly to Jesus, fly to Jesus, fly to Jesus and live.

Whenever I hear this song I remember those few minutes that afternoon when I knew it was all ok. I still miss my mom and wish she was around but I know she still lives and is happy where she is at and that I'll see her again.

Answers to Prayer & Time With Dad

Bradley's teacher had given him a Christmas gift on the last day of school. It was a kit to build a bulldozer. He had been patiently waiting for 2 days for someone to put it together with him. Somewhere along the way he lost the directions to it. He came to me with a big smile and said, I lost my directions and I prayed really hard to find them. He had come into the office looked under a towel and there were the directions. He was beaming as he told me about it.
Brian took time to help Bradley build his bulldozer. The spent a long time gluing all the pieces together.

Glasswing Butterflies

These glasswing butterflies reminded me of my friend Georgia. She makes the most beautiful pendants out of butterfly wings.
I totally have the song My Heavenly Father Loves Me going through my head:

Whenever I hear the song of a bird
Or look at the blue, blue sky,
Whenever I feel the rain on my face
Or the wind as it rushes by,
Whenever I touch a velvet rose
Or walk by a lilac tree,
I’m glad that I live in this beautiful world
Heavenly Father created for me.

He gave me my eyes that I might see
The color of butterfly wings.

He gave my ears that I might hear
The magical sound of things.
He gave me my life, mind, my heart;
I thank Him rev’rently
For all his creations, of which I’m a part.
Yes, I know Heavenly Father loves me.

Savor It Sunday...Pondering

Today I am thinking about the word Ponder. Last night at the adult session of stake conference one of the talks was on Search, Ponder & Pray. The key word President Hinton focused on was ponder.
Um reality is I am a terrible ponderer. I'm fabulous at going through the motions. I've been reading my scriptures and saying my prayers every day for weeks now. But rarely do I ever take the time to ponder. Brian is a fabulous ponderer. He ponders things all the time. I on the other hand get so caught up in my checklist of things to do and the hustle and bustle of running the house and keeping the kids on track that I don't take much time to ponder. So my goal is to take some quiet time to ponder more often. The problem is where to find this time and how to make this goal into a reality.
The question was asked - How many minutes do you have to ponder? We were challenged to set time aside to ponder. I spend too few minutes pondering, very often no time at all in a day. To find time to ponder I need quiet time and there isn't any of that when the kids are awake so I either have to stay up later or get up earlier. Nights are when I spend time with Brian so I'm opting to get up 15 minutes earlier than I have been so I have a few minutes alone that are quiet to ponder each morning.

There is a great message from President Benson from April 1988 Here are some of my favorite quotes from it:

Ponder the significance of the responsibility the Lord has given to us. The Lord has counseled, “Let the solemnities of eternity rest upon your minds.” (D&C 43:34.) You cannot do that when your minds are preoccupied with the cares of the world.

We must always be responsive to the whisperings of the Spirit. These promptings most often come when we are not under the pressure of appointments and when we are not caught up in the worries of day-to-day life.

The following statement by President Spencer W. Kimball illustrates how we may develop more spirituality in our lives:
“I find that when I get casual in my relationships with divinity and when it seems that no divine ear is listening and no divine voice is speaking, that I am far, far away. If I immerse myself in the scriptures the distance narrows and the spirituality returns. I find myself loving more intensely those whom I must love with all my heart and mind and strength, and loving them more, I find it easier to abide their counsel.”

This latter-day work is spiritual. It takes spirituality to comprehend it, to love it, and to discern it. Therefore, seek the Spirit in all you do. Keep it with you continually. That is our challenge.

Make No Mistake About It...

'Make no mistake about it, brothers and sisters, in the months and years ahead, events are likely to require each member to decide whether or not he will follow the First Presidency. Members will find it more difficult to halt longer between two opinions.
President Marion G. Romney said, many years ago, that he had 'never hesitated to follow the counsel of the Authorities of the Church even though it crossed my social, professional or political life.' This is hard doctrine, but it is particularly vital doctrine in a society which is becoming more wicked. In short, brothers and sisters, not being ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ includes not being ashamed of the prophets of Jesus Christ. . . .
Your discipleship may see the time when such religious convictions are discounted. . . .
This new irreligious imperialism seeks to disallow certain opinions simply because those opinions grow out of religious convictions. Resistance to abortion will be seen as primitive. Concern over the institution of the family will be viewed as untrendy and unenlightened....
Before the ultimate victory of the forces of righteousness, some skirmishes will be lost. Even in these, however, let us leave a record so that the choices are clear, letting others do as they will in the face of prophetic counsel.
There will also be times, happily, when a minor defeat seems probable, but others will step forward, having been rallied to rightness by what we do. We will know the joy, on occasion, of having awakened a slumbering majority of the decent people of all races and creeds which was, till then, unconscious of itself.
Jesus said that when the fig trees put forth their leaves, 'summer is nigh.' Thus warned that summer is upon us, let us not then complain of the heat.'
--- Elder Neal A. Maxwell October 10, 1978 address at BYU
What a prophetic talk!

Food Storage Friday - Food for Thought

"Acquire and store a reserve of food and supplies that will sustain life. . . . As long as I can remember, we have been taught to prepare for the future and to obtain a year's supply of necessities. I would guess that the years of plenty have almost universally caused us to set aside this counsel. I believe the time to disregard this counsel is over. With events in the world today, it must be considered with all seriousness." Elder L. Tom Perry

"Should the Lord decide at this time to cleanse the Church--and the need for that cleansing seems to be increasing--a famine in this land of one year's duration could wipe out a large percentage of slothful members, including some ward and stake officers. Yet we cannot say we have not been warned." (Teachings of Ezra Taft Benson, p.265)

"Too often we bask in our comfortable complacency and rationalize that the ravages of war, economic disaster, famine, and earthquake cannot happen here. Those who believe this are either not acquainted with the revelations of the Lord, or they do not believe them. Those who smugly think these calamities will not happen, that they somehow will be set aside because of the righteousness of the Saints, are deceived and will rue the day they harbored such a delusion." (Teachings of Ezra Taft Benson, p.265)

Roger K. Young said, "The Lord has warned and forewarned us against a day of great tribulation and given us counsel, through His servants, on how we can be prepared for these difficult times. Have we heeded His counsel? It is hard for me to understand why or how so many good and wonderful people can discount what the prophets have said, again, and again, and concerning what will suddenly happen to the world in the future. President Benson said: "The revelation to produce and store food may be as essential to our temporal welfare today as boarding the ark was to the people in the days of Noah." (CR October 1980, Ensign 10 [November 1980]: 33.) Teachings of Ezra Taft Benson, p.266)

I canned 42 cans of long term storage at the dry pack cannery last Friday and bought 100 more pounds of oats so that has to take care of a couple of weeks worth of food storage. Smith's had hot cocoa packets on sale for 50 cents a box so I bought 20 boxes, the also had condensed milk for 50 cents so I bought 20 cans. I did add to our food storage this week!
I'm still determined to get the water rotated... soon, really soon.....I'm such a procrastinator because it's not a fun job and I hate doing it!

Toss The Guilt - Catch the Joy

Toss the Guilt and Catch the Joy: A Woman's Guide to a Better Life Toss the Guilt and Catch the Joy: A Woman's Guide to a Better Life by Merrilee Boyack

My review

rating: 4 of 5 stars
I really enjoyed this book. It had lots of things it in that were just what I needed to hear.

Here are a few of the things the resonated with me. But don't just read these...If any of these quotes resonate with you I highly recommend reading the book. There is a lot more in there! It was a fun book to read.

In all living have much of fun and laughter. Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured. ~Gordon B. Hinckley

Knowing this, Lucifer works hard at undermining our divine gift. All too often we fall into traps he has designed to estrange us from each other. He delights when we gossip and criticize and judge, when we stew over perceived offenses or measure ourselves against each other, or when we succumb to such envy that we even begrudge each others' successes...

How often have you and I made judgments that are equally unfair? Why can't we resist the urge to second-guess and evaluate each other? Why do we judge everything from the way we keep house to how many children we do or do not have? Sometimes I wonder if the final judgment will be a breeze compared with what we've put each other through here on earth! ~Sheri Dew

Your value to Him is independent of your body mass index, your accomplishments in arts, academics or athletics, your possessions, popularity, or marital status, your current calling in the Church or any other thing which can be a source of comparison and competition. ~Merrill Christensen

Heavenly Father has provided a plan for each of us to receive eternal life. He knows what each of us has experienced... And the Lord reassures us that he knows and he will pass fair and mericful judgement.
One sister thinks, But I was the Relief Society president! And look, I can still wear my clothes from high school. And I had a year's supply and held amazing family home evenings every single week. But in her heart she was constantly critical of others.
Another sister thinks, I struggle everyday with chronic pain from fibromyalgia. My marriage is hanging by a thread. And I am so worried about my oldest daughter. In her heart, she was constantly merciful and forgiving.
How shall the Lord reward them? Fairly!
~Merrilee Boyack

What if we were to decide today that we would make just one assumption about each other-that we are each doing the best we can? And what if we were to try a little harder to help each other? Imagine the cumulative effect, not to mention the effect on us spiritually.... As we are filled with this love, we no longer feel envy or think evil of others. ~Sheri Dew

What a powerful question, "I wonder what their story is?"...

Knowing a person's story can help us withhold judgment and extend love and understanding. But there is an even higher level of this principle: simple acceptance.

I call this level of acceptance "looking at people with Christ's eyes."...We see dysfunctional people, depressed people, addicted people, and he sees brothers and sisters whom he loves dearly, people he is willing to suffer and die for. ~MB

But it's too bad, so sad for Satan. We are far more powerful than he will ever be. We always have been. And we have the power to reject his attempts to destroy us. ~MB

In quiet moments when you think about it, you recognize what is critically important in life and what isn’t. Be wise and don’t let good things crowd out those that are essential. ~Richard G. Scott

When things of the world crowd in, all too often the wrong things take highest priority. Then it is easy to forget the fundamental purpose of life. Satan has a powerful tool to use against good people. It is distraction. He would have good people fill life with “good things” so there is no room for the essential ones. Have you unconsciously been caught in that trap? ~Richard G. Scott

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen. ~Reinhold Niebuhr
This is a truth. We must surrender to God's will, and in so doing, we can find happiness.

What if I committed to living just these two spiritual practices (scriptures & prayers) perfectly?
Then, a bold thought took hold in my brain.
Perfectly. As in every single day. As in nothing missing.
And so the idea of the "Perfect Year" was born. I committed right there that I would live a perfect year of daily prayer and scripture study. ~MB

And then his sweet assurance came. I was filled with the knowledge that he loved me enough that he was willing to suffer for every single thing I had done and would do. He loved me. Truly.

All he asked was that I would try. Each day. Try to be more obedient, and when I messed up, to turn to him, repent, and try again. ~MB

You can also look to your patriarchal blessing and see what is unfulfilled. ~MB

I will make a bold statement here and now. Some will not agree with me, but I believe that every woman who wants her family to be centered in the gospel should throw out the video game systems in her home-and throw them away where they cannot be retrieved.

But it is amazing to me how many women justify having these terrible toys in their homes. ~MB

Somehow I don't think the hymn advises, "Because I have been given much, I too must hoard!" ~MB

Mothers who know do less. They permit less of what will not bear good fruit eternally. They allow less media in their homes, less distraction, less activity that draws their children away from their home. Mothers who know are willing to live on less and consume less of the world's goods in order to spend more time with their children—more time eating together, more time working together, more time reading together, more time talking, laughing, singing, and exemplifying. These mothers choose carefully and do not try to choose it all. ~Julie B. Beck

I speak to you this morning not only about a little more effort, a little more self-discipline, a little more consecrated effort in the direction of excellence in your studies. I speak of it also in terms of your lives.

This is the great day of preparation for each of you. It is the time of beginning for something that will go on for as long as you live. I plead with you: Don't be a scrub! Rise to the high ground of excellence. You can do it. You may not be a genius. You may be lacking in some skills. But you can do better than you are now doing. You are students at BYU. Most of you are members of this great Church whose influence is now felt all over the world. You are people with a present and with a future. Don't muff the ball. Be excellent. ~Gordon B. Hinckley

Self-mastery is a rigorous process at best; too many of us want it to be effortless and painless. ~Thomas S. Monson

Straight Line From a Crooked Stick

The Lord can draw a straight line with even the most crooked of sticks.

I know that I can never be perfected through my efforts alone,
and there are still times when I feel as if I am sinking like Peter.
However, I am strengthened when I remember that
Christ’s commandment is not for me to become perfect
and then come to Him.
Instead, He invites me—and each one of us—
to come unto Him and to be perfected in Him.
This power has helped me be a better parent
and a better teacher than I could ever be on my own.
When I focus on Christ, do my best,
and recognize my dependence on Him, I am strengthened.
Crooked though my stick may be,
the Lord is somehow able to draw a straight line,
and I become an instrument in His hand.
From the article Why Did the Lord Call Me?

Inspirational Thought 2

"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails.I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp.I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Sister Schenk's lawn.I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children.I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden.I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder.I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."
-Marjorie Hinckley-
(Thanks to Rachel S. - I stole this off her blog)

Thought for the Day

"We live in a most exciting and challenging period in human history. As technology sweeps through every facet of our lives, changes are occurring so rapidly that it can be difficult for us to keep our lives in balance. To maintain some semblance of stability in our lives, it is essential that we plan for our future. I believe it is time, and perhaps with some urgency, to review the counsel we have received in dealing with our personal and family preparedness. We want to be found with oil in our lamps sufficient to endure to the end."
Elder L. Tom Perry

Oh No! She's Awake Again!

This morning has been one of those days? Do you know the kind of days I'm talking about? The ones where you're tired and don't want to get out of bed and pessimism and everything that is wrong with your life is all you can focus on! The "why me" kind of days that get us no where and yet we wallow in self pity for a while before snapping out of the funk we are in. Thankfully it usually doesn't take me long to bounce back. I was searching the Internet and came across a few quotes I liked that helped!

“The fact is most putts don’t drop. Most beef is tough. Most children grow up to be just people. Most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration. Most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. …
“Life is like an old-time rail journey—delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed.
“The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride” ~Gordon B. Hinckley

"God loves us; the devil hates us. God wants us to have a fullness of joy as He has. The devil wants us to be miserable as he is." ~President Ezra Taft Benson

"If we don't have a clear sense of our identity and purpose, we are much more vulnerable to Lucifer. He of course knows this and accordingly attempts to blur our vision. He lies. He shades and obliterates truth. He makes evil look good and good look unenlightened and unsophisticated. Make no mistake about it: Lucifer will do anything to derail, disappoint, dishearten, discourage, and deceive us—and particularly those who have made and are seeking to keep sacred covenants. His motives are entirely self-centered, selfish, destructive, and evil." ~ Sheri L. Dew

"The devil is strongly against man's repenting and preparing himself for the kingdom of heaven. The devil's mission and goal is to destroy man's potential godliness and his preparation to be again with his Heavenly Father. Repentance will stop the devil and keep him from entering the hearts of men."
Elder Bernard P. Brockbank

Do any of you remember the story Sheri Dew once related where she said a girl came up to her and said: “I’ll bet when you get up every morning the devil says to himself, ‘Oh no! She’s awake again!’”
Time to stop letting Satan win! It may be noon already but I think I'll pretend I just got up and start my day over!

Footprints in the Sand & Finding Joy in the Journey

Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,
"You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?"

The Lord replied,
"The times when you have
seen only one set of footprints in the sand,
is when I carried you."

~Mary Stevenson
I was thinking of this poem today. Sometimes life is just hard and it seems like we'll never make it through the things that get thrown at us. Busy schedules, illness, housework, homework, church callings and a to do list a mile long, children, spouses, extended family, friends, neighbors, and a multitude of other things calling for our attention, service, scriptures, journals, exercise, meals, bills, scouting, the list never ends. How to not lose site of what is most important. Last night as a family we listened to President Monson's talk Finding Joy in the Journey.
This is our one and only chance at mortal life—here and now. The longer we live, the greater is our realization that it is brief. Opportunities come, and then they are gone. I believe that among the greatest lessons we are to learn in this short sojourn upon the earth are lessons that help us distinguish between what is important and what is not. I plead with you not to let those most important things pass you by as you plan for that illusive and non-existent future when you will have time to do all that you want to do. Instead, find joy in the journey—now.
It was a real wake up call for me. What is most important in my life? My husband, my children, my family, the church. All too often I let the most important things pass me by while I'm focused on something that is not. So here's to putting family first and finding joy in the journey!

The Time Has Come to Get Our Houses in Order

I got a chuckle out of this cartoon but then it got me thinking...Obviously with Brian being a realtor the country's financial crisis could very directly effect our future. If people aren't buying and selling homes we don't have anything to pay our bills with. We have been very blessed this year. In fact we have had the best year we have ever had. But the future is completely uncertain. Brian could go months without closing a deal and has in the past so we don't know what lies ahead for us.
I got to thinking of the talk President Hinckley gave 10 years ago in the Priesthood Session of conference.

Now, brethren, I want to make it very clear that I am not prophesying, that I am not predicting years of famine in the future. But I am suggesting that the time has come to get our houses in order....
So many of our people are living on the very edge of their incomes. In fact, some are living on borrowings....
I urge you, brethren, to look to the condition of your finances. I urge you to be modest in your expenditures; discipline yourselves in your purchases to avoid debt to the extent possible. Pay off debt as quickly as you can, and free yourselves from bondage.
...
If you have paid your debts, if you have a reserve, even though it be small, then should storms howl about your head, you will have shelter for your wives and children and peace in your hearts. That’s all I have to say about it, but I wish to say it with all the emphasis of which I am capable.

President Hinckley was a such a great man and none of us can claim that we didn't know what was coming. We know times are going to get even worse than they are right now! Unfortunately we still aren't completely debt free however; we've been very blessed by the Lord, always pay our tithing and we're trying to live within our means so I'm optimistic about our future.

The Girl in a Whirl

I'm currently reading the book Toss the Guilt and Catch the Joy by Merrilee Boyack. I enjoyed this poem about the "Perfect Woman":

The Girl in a Whirl
By “Dr. Sue” aka Vickie Gunther

Look at me, look at me, look at me now!
You could do what I do if you only knew how.
I study the scriptures one hour each day;
I bake, I upholster, I scrub, and I pray.
I always keep all the commandments completely;
I speak to my little ones gently and sweetly.
I help in their classrooms! I sew all they wear!
I drive them to practice! I cut all their hair!
I memorize names of the General Authorities;
I focus on things to be done by priorities.
I play the piano! I bless with my talents!
My toilets all sparkle! My checkbooks all balance!
Each week every child gets a one-on-one date;
I attend all my meetings (on time! Never late!)
I’m taking a class on the teachings of Paul,
But that is not all! Oh, no. That is not all.
I track my bad habits ’til each is abolished;
Our t-shirts are ironed! My toenails are polished!
Our family home evenings are always delightful;
The lessons I give are both fun and insightful.
I do genealogy faithfully, too. It’s easy to do all the things that I do!
I rise each day early, refreshed and awake;
I know all the names of each youth in my stake!
I read to my children! I help all my neighbors!
I bless the community, too, with my labors.
I exercise and I cook menus gourmet;
My visiting teaching is done the first day!
(I also go do it for someone who missed hers.
It’s the least I can do for my cherished ward sisters.)
I chart resolutions and check off each goal;
I seek each “lost lamb” on my Primary roll.
I can home-grown produce each summer and fall.
But that is not all! Oh, no. That is not all.
I write in my journal! I sing in the choir!
Each day, I write “thank you’s” to those I admire.
My sons were all Eagles when they were fourteen!
My kids get straight A’s! And their bedrooms are clean!
I have a home business to help make some money;
I always look beautifully groomed for my honey.
I go to the temple at least once a week;
I change the car’s tires! I fix the sink’s leak!
I grind my own wheat and I bake all our bread;
I have all our meals planned out six months ahead.
I make sure I rotate our two-years’ supply;
My shopping for Christmas is done by July!
These things are not hard; It’s good if you do them;
You can if you try! Just set goals and pursue them!
It’s easy to do all the things that I do!
If you plan and work smart, you can do them all, too!
It’s easy!” she said…and then she dropped dead.

Think I'll ever be the "perfect woman"?
