Marvelous Monday

I've made my list, I've checked it twice.
I'm going to make today a great day.
No more excuses!
And hopefully no interruptions (a girl can dream)
So far so good. I've stuck to my list so far which included getting out of bed early enough for personal prayers and scriptures before getting everyone else up, something I've been skipping and needed to get back to.
I've got less than 5 minutes until I have to be off the computer and downstairs exercising.
Today is my stay at home a clean day.
The only thing on the list is a dentist appointment for Kim at 2:30 so I'm hoping to get on top of at least part of my house before then.

Oh and really quick I have to mention how fabulous my sister in law Wendy is. Yesterday while we were visiting she cleaned out and organized a couple of my kitchen cupboards. Thanks Wendy!!!

Time's up I'm off to exercise.

Monday, Monday

I didn't sleep well last night. I took a nice long nap yesterday so when it came time for bed I wasn't tired...at all. It was after 2:30 when I finally fell asleep and I had to get up at 5:30 to deliver newspapers for a friend. Of course at 3:30 Kylie had a nightmare and woke up Bradley and it was at least 45 minutes before Kylie was back asleep. That left me with 2 hours of sleep last night. Today was simply survival mode. A couple loads of dishes and a few loads of laundry (none of which got folded). Other than that I took 2 naps, laid on the couch, laid in my bed and read.
The only reason we survived today and the house is not a disaster is that thanks to my husband's motivation the house was all clean this morning. Why is it that the kids work for him but not for me? I actually don't want an answer to that question because I know the answer. I'm inconsistent, give in too easily and am often tired of hearing their whining and excuses so I turn a blind eye to their laziness and don't enforce the rules. That's something I'm going to work on this summer. Work first, then play (or in Brett's case work first, then study).
I am really looking forward to summer. Only 8 more days of school. Wow the year has flown by! We're headed up to Provo right after school gets out so Brett and attend EFY. The younger kids are excited to visit cousins while he's at EFY.

Marvelous Monday

Today was one of the best all around days I have had. I was motivated today and felt great. I made it a 12 point day which means I got a lot of exercise in and ate right. I got my kitchen clean, laundry done and the girls room clean. I listened to a book on tape, read my scriptures and the Ensign and read for pleasure. We had breakfast & dinner as a family and I helped the kids with homework. One of those rare days when things just went smoothly. Of course the list of things to do is always endless but as my friend Melissa recommend I'm trying to focus on what I did get done instead of what still needs to be done.
It's almost time for Family Home Evening. When my dad came through in December he brought us a package of Oreos that have never been eaten. Shocking I know. Thanks dad - Brian & the kids get a FHE treat and I don't have to bake it!
