Pay It Forward

Pay It Forward
Lucky You!
The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me!
My choice.
For you.
This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2. What I create will be just for you.
3. It'll be done this year (might take a little while).
4. You have no clue what it's going to be. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!
5. I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.
The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same.
The first five people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift from me!
Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!
Good luck!

I can honestly say I've never even tasted Blue Cheese Salad dressing. I don't have a clue what blue cheese even tastes like. I'd be open to trying it but it would have to be at a buffet or restaurant because I buy Caesar, Thousand Island, Ranch and sometimes Italian, that's all.

I need a drink of water, Bryce is being too loud, Wonder what Kylie is up too because it is too quiet.

Tagged - Your Turn

Outside my window... there is blue sky, sunshine and an overgrown pomegranate tree.
I am thinking... I would really like to climb back in bed and get warm under the covers.
I am thankful for... 5 healthy children who bless our home.
From the kitchen... I can see the golfers golfing.
I am wearing... the same clothes I had on yesterday because I haven't showered yet today.
I am going... to clean the basement in a few minutes.
I am reading... The Book of Mormon.
I am hoping... for a calm peaceful day.
I am creating... new habits to replace old ones.
I am hearing... a computer humming and Kylie finding "matches" whiles she plays memory on the floor by me.
Around the house... Chaos is slowly becoming organized.
One of my favorite things... to do is read.
A few plans for the rest of the week... get the basement clean, spend time with the kids, try to be patient and not lose my temper.
A picture thought I am sharing with you... Time passes quickly and you don't know how much of it you will have ... so enjoy the moment while you have it.

Tag - Your It!

So here is the latest "tag". Go to your pictures and open the 4th folder and then post the 4th picture in that folder.

The 4th folder in my pictures was labeled Bradley's Birthday & New Years 2007! This is Kylie at the age of 1.

Since the folder was labeled Bradley's Birthday I figure we need a picture from his birthday party. Here is Bradley turning 5.

It's Friday!

Friday Fill-Ins
1. Follow the Prophet.
2. My Cell Phone is something I always take with me on vacation.
3. To achieve your goals, you must believe you can do it.
4. I'm cranky when I don't get enough sleep and that is something I'd like you to know about me.
5. I have a fabulous husband and wonderful children (most of the time).
6. Wood floats.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to going to the temple with Brian, tomorrow my plans include getting up too way to early for a Saturday to get Brett off to a 20 mile hike and Sunday, I want to relax and read!

That's My Answer
So, tell us, did you have a job as a teenager? What did you do? And was it a local business or were you a member of the faceless masses in a huge company like McDs?
I worked at a small furniture & appliance store called Chatham Becker. My dad worked there and so I always had a job when I wanted one.
What’s your favourite “old film” to watch on a Saturday afternoon snuggled up on the sofa? Why?
I rarely get a chance to snuggle up and watch a movie on a Saturday. One of my favorite old movies is Somewhere in Time.
What books have inspired you?
There have been lots of books that have inspired me to be a better person and to try a little harder. Obviously recently it has been the Twilight books that have inspired my to make some changes in myself.
How much did your lunch cost yesterday?
Very little. It was a home made chicken wrap and an apple and couldn't have cost more than a dollar or 2.
Could you / would you change your flat if you had to?
That is what I have AAA & a husband for.

Breakfast: If you could jump into any book … what would it be and why?

Anne of Green Gables. It's a favorite from childhood and such a beautiful place.

Lunch: Tell how you are feeling today in the form of a weather report.

Hazy skies with clearing in the afternoon, clear starry night.

Dinner: What activities make you lose track of time?

Blogging, email, reading...

Midnight Snack: What were you doing one hour ago?

Dropping Kim off at a friend's house to play

Recipe for this Week:

Perseverance wins the race!

A Few Random Things...

What was your favorite toy as a child?
My mom saved a few things. One was a My Friend Mandy Doll so I'm guessing I liked that doll as a child.
If money was no object, but you could only buy ONE thing, what would you buy your spouse/significant other?
Toyota Landcruiser - A really old one from the 70s that Brian could restore and going 4 wheeling with.
What about your children?
I probably wouldn't buy my children anything but I'd take them on a trip somewhere in a foreign country so they could experience somewhere different.
Now, if you only had $10 to buy one thing, what would it be?
I'd go out to eat somewhere that had something I could eat on my no sugar/no white refined diet.
What's on your refrigerator?
2 magnets, a letter from our Stake Presidency about keeping the sabbath day holy, a picture one of my kids drew and 2 coupons.
What's on top of it?
There's no room for anything on top of it because if fits snugly under a high cupboard.
Go look in it. Whats in there that would gross the rest of us out?
I threw out a bunch of stuff yesterday so there's nothing gross left. There is something wrong with it and water builds up inside of it so there is always a couple rags under the drawers to collect the water. If you wait a few days I have some broccoli that will turn bad if I don't use it soon.
Whats your favorite type of potato?
Baked potato loaded with sour cream, butter, cheese, etc.
Do you have an address book? Do you write in it or do you just stick return addresses/envelopes in it?
I have an online address book in Microsoft works but it's really outdated.
Look up. Do you like your ceiling?
It's just a ceiling what is there to like or dislike about it? It does have a few marks on in that must be from years ago when this was a bedroom with the kids bunk bed in it!

WW #25
1. If you could only eat one fruit for an entire year and that fruit would magically be in season and ripe that full year, which fruit would you choose and why?
I'd have to pick strawberries. I also love raspberries, pineapple and red grapes, but if I could only have one thing I think strawberries would be what I would enjoy the most.
2. What is something that makes you sad?
Lots of things make me sad. Children who are abused, families torn apart by divorce, my own children argueing, death, contention, seeing others hurting, the list could go on....
3. What would you do if you came home from an extended vacation and found that someone else was living in your house?
Freak out and call the police.
4. What US President, alive or otherwise, would you like to have dinner with?
Abraham Lincoln or George Washington.
5. What is your opinion on multitasking while driving? (Reading a book or work documents, changing clothes, fixing hair, applying make up, shaving your face, et cetera)
Not the safest practice in the world.
6. Do you ever multitask while driving? If so, how often would you say you are guilty of it?
I'm guilty of it nearly everytime I drive. There is always one of my kids needing something or a call to make on my cell phone. I only read at stop lights!
7. Do you tend to be early, on time, fashionably late or LATE to work and work related events? Do you tend to be more or less punctual for non-work related events?
I don't work out of the home so that doesn't apply. Until a few years ago I was always early! I'm married to someone who doesn't like to go early so I've tried to give a little and go for on time. I've backed off a little and come to realize that being late to something is not the end of the world.
8. What is a quirk your significant other has that you would define as "cute"? If you have no SO, what is a quirk you find cute in a potential SO?
Brian has a crooked smile. It's cute but he doesn't think so.

That's My Answer
What do you do when you are feeling overwhelmed?
Nothing. That's the worst part about being overwhelmed I have to mental talk myself in to do something small instead of throwing up my hands.
Today is picture day at my daughter’s school, which got me thinking, are you school pictures on display anywhere? Is there one on someone’s desk at work? In a wallet?
School pictures are not my favorite. They never turn out as good as you hope. There are a few pictures displayed on Brian's work desk but most of the kids school pictures are still in the envelopes they came in.

The Meme Express prompt today is grouchy.
According to Sesame Street Magazine, October 15th is National Grouch Day in the United States.

Do you ever feel grouchy?
Most definately. Especially when I'm tired or stressed.
How do you respond, when others are grouchy to you?
Depends on who it is. If it's my husband I get defensive. If it is someone I don't care about I ignore it.
What can be done about trashy grouchiness?
Um not really sure what trashy grouchiness is? All I can think of is Oscar the Grouch and there's nothing that needs to be done about him... I like him.

The Great Eight!

8 T.V. Shows I love to watch:
I don't watch TV anymore. I think the last time I watched a show regularly was the Amazing Race 8: Family Edition and that was on 3 years ago. Occasionally I watch something on PBS if it catches my interest. So we are going to have to go with reruns I enjoy.

  • Andy Griffith
  • Gilligan's Island
  • Everybody Loves Raymond
  • Home Improvement

That's My Answer

Have you ever run out of gas?
I know I have but I can't remember the details of it. I'm certain Brian has come to my rescue with a gas can but the details escape me. I remember a couple times coasting into a gas station.
Or locked your keys in your car?
I've done this quite a few times. AAA has come in handy more than once as they've come to my rescue. I can think of 3 times just last year, once at Brian's office, once in our garage & once with Kylie locked inside.
How about with your car running?
Nope but worse than locking keys in it with the car running is when Kylie got locked in the car. I was picking Bradley up from kindergarten and got out of the car. Kylie climbed up to "drive" and stepped on the automatic lock button. She was barely 2 and didn't know how to unlock the car. Fortunately it wasn't the hot of summer! I called AAA who called the key man to come out. After about 15 or 20 minutes of trying to explain to Kylie where to push to open the door she stepped on the unlock button and got herself out before help arrived.
And have you ever parked your car, then couldn’t remember where you parked it?
Often but only at Wal-mart or Costco. I go there so often I sometimes forget which row I parked in but usually find in after I stop to think. I always feel bad for the people who are wandering around the parking lot at midnight at Disneyland. I see them just about every time I go there. That is one parking lot I'd never want to forget where I parked!
Be honest, how often do you wash your car?
Only when Brian has taken it camping or somewhere muddy. Maybe 3 or 4 times a year tops!

Did you register by October 6?
Been registered to vote since we moved here.
If so, what makes you want to vote in this election?
Our country needs some good leaders to pull us through the turmoil of this world.
Is it your first election to vote?
Nope I vote in all the presidential elections and any others I feel I know enough to cast an educated vote.
Who are you voting for?
Whoever is the most conservative.
If not, why are you not voting?
I'm voting this time but when I don't vote it is because I don't feel I know enough to cast a wise vote.
