Car Tabs & Procrastination...

We are late every year getting our safety inspection so we can get our car tabs renewed.  Brian's car tabs expired at the end of August.  Mine expire the end of December.  We just never get around to getting the cars taken in so it can be inspected.  Half the time there is something wrong that must be fixed before they'll pass our cars anyway so it is usually costly.  We finally took both our cars in today.  The only thing we had to do was get an alignment done on the suburban which it desperately needed.  My heater is not working well but that isn't required to pass a safety inspection and my car has a leak in the water pump or radiator or some such part but again that doesn't have to be fixed to pass inspection. So for now it will be a little cold driving around this winter but for the first time ever my car tabs have been renewed before they expire!  Perhaps we've turned over a new leaf and will get  the renewal done on time from here on out... or maybe not!

Tackle It Tuesday

I really need to go back to setting goals and doing projects around my house.  It's in desperate need of a good spring cleaning that can't wait until spring!

Today I'm tackling the laundry area of my house.  I have piles of clothes that need to go to the DI, other clothes that need a good bleaching, socks that need matching and cupboards and shelves that need cleaning.

No painfully embarrassing pictures today but I hope by the time I go to bed the laundry will all be done, at least until morning when there will be another pile.

2 Days in a Row

Considering it's been a long time since I've thought about blogging it's pretty amazing I'm on here 2 days in a row!

Life has been crazy busy. I was released from the Primary Presidency yesterday. Hard to believe it had been over a year a half since I was called to be the first counselor. No new calling for me right now which is ok. I'm sure one is coming sometime soon but I've got a lot of my plate right now so a short break is appreciated.

Thought I'd post a few more pictures of the kids.  Bryce and Brett are both just about 6 feet tall now.  Kimberly comes up to my nose and Brad & Kylie are growing like weeds.

Bradley is a happy go lucky kid.  He's in 4th grade and smart as can be but never studies.  He'll be 10 at the end of the month. Life is all about playing the computer and work is torturous.
Brett is just a couple weeks away from turning 17.  To say this has been a difficult year for him is an understatement.  He's had a host of medical problems but bares them with humility and patience.  He's a great kid.
Bryce and basketball.  That's his love right now.  If not playing basketball he's on his cell phone.  Although I finally found him reading a book several times this week.  He used to read all the time but it's been a while since he's read for enjoyment.  He's less than 2 months away from turning 14.
Kim is growing up too fast.   Seriously she is no longer a little girl but is now into music, clothes, nails, hair, earrings... 2 months until she's out of primary and into young womens.
Kylie is still a bundle of energy and she is as opinionated as ever.  She is loving Kindergarten and sailing through easy as can be.  She turned 6 last month. As soon as she is home from school all she wants to do is play with friends.
I've given up on the idea of ever catching up on this blog.  Lots has happened in the past year but it's too overwhelming to think about playing catch up so I'm going to try to just post what happens from here on out. However if life is like it usually is that means it might be a while before I'm here again so enjoy the brief update.

We haven't taken a family picture in forever... This is as good as it gets on Thanksgiving afternoon.
