Surprise!

What a surprise I got this morning. My friend Shauna called and said she'd made an appointment for me to get a pedicure & I needed to be there in 30 minutes! She thought I needed cute toes for the cruise so she had scheduled a pedicure for me and was going to watch Kylie for me while I went.
While Shauna was pregnant I gave her shots each morning and night so she was paying me back for what I did for her. Thanks Shauna! My first pedicure was very relaxing and enjoyable.

My "BFF"

We moved from Washington State over 5 years ago and we have never been back. Since I was so close I decided I had to get down and visit my dear friends who still live there. It was last minute but fortunately there was room in a car that was headed back to the airport early so I got dropped off in Tacoma and Sandy came up and picked me up. I only had a couple hours but I was able to stop by Lacey 2nd Ward just as church was letting out and see a bunch of old friends, stop by our house there and meet our renter & stop by Sandy & Leslie's houses before it was time to head to the airport to catch my flight home.

With Sandy & Leslie
Attempting some old tricks!
Aren't we cool....do you love my white socks?
With Donna too.
Not sure what we are doing in this picture!

School starts in 3 weeks.

We survived another day of summer. Not enough sleep last night made it a longer than normal day. The kids had friends over all day! I've started sending friends home at 6:00 when we have dinner and then I don't let them come back and try to keep my kids at home for the rest of the evening for family time. (Our house is often the "Kool-aid house" - the house on the block where everyone hangs out- although I never serve the neighbor kids kool-aid).
After dinner we drove up to the church and climbed up and over the hill that is behind it. It was a good hike for all of us, especially Brian who had just run 4 laps around the park. Once we got back to the church Brian drove Kylie and Bradley home while Brett, Bryce, Kim and I walked home. It was only 87 out so it was actually cool enough to go outside. It's nice to have a little reprieve from 110 degree weather!

Hanging with the Frames

Our neighbors the Frames came over and watched us light fireworks. Seth, Annie and Zach are good friends. Annie and Zach are often at our house for hours on end and when they are not here Kim and Brad are at their house. After the fireworks we lit the snakes in the road. Those were always one of my favorites as a kid (and an adult too).
