1/2 Marathon

Mike, Wendy and their kids came into town so Mike could run the 1/2 Marathon. It was so much nicer than the Marathon because the course was so close to our home. We drove up right past the duck pond and watched him run. We then fed the ducks and then went to the trail behind the post office to watch him run by again and then went to the finish line. They'll be back in March for another race :)

Marathon/Conference Weekend

My brother Mike & his family came down last weekend. Although he had been injured earlier this year Mike decided to run/walk the St. George Marathon.
This is not a clear picture but this is wall to wall bodies. Mike went to bed early Friday night and all the cousins slept upstairs together. While Mike was up early and off running the kids and cousins had a fun morning playing together.

Then it was off to downtown to see Mike finish the race.
Look at that big smile on his face!
The kids were so excited to see him run by.

There he goes off to the finish line.
Getting his post run masage.
The whole gang after the race.
The Sunday morning of conference was spent listening to conference and playing Legos.
Mike and Wendy's kids really wanted to make a Volcano.

They thought this was so cool! A pile of dirt with a water bottle filled with vinegar and baking soda.

I just heard that Mike has signed up for 2 more races here in St. George and the marathon for next year. Hooray! That means we'll get to see more of his family.

Visit from Cousins

Friday night Heidi and Kyle stayed with us on their move from AZ to Montana. The kids had so much fun. We have not seen them in way too long and their kids are growing up so fast. We spent Saturday morning boating at Sand Hollow reservoir then came home for a pizza lunch and just hung out until they had to leave Saturday evening.
Makenzie
Brooke
Spencer and Bradley are only 4 days apart.
Hopefully it won't be years before we get together again.

Christmas Eve at Uncle Philips

Kylie with Uncle Philip
Shannon always keeps the kids entertained while we are visiting.
Aunt Marva had a huge buffet of food for everyone.
Brian & Bradley loading up their plates.
Cute Kimberly
Kylie showing us her great table manners.
Kylie was getting away with it so Bradley had to try too.
Enjoying a great dinner.
Kylie was thrilled to be told she could take this Tinkerbell balloon home.
With Uncle Philip
We were trying to get Bryce to smile and Shannon said she'd get him to smile.
Brett spent a lot of time playing the organ.
Shannon had the perfect solution to take care of the noise level.
Maybe we should have bought a roll of duct tape for Christmas.

The kids all got a ride on Uncle Philip's Wild Ride. Even Kylie insisted she have a turn alone.

We had a great evening. Thanks to Uncle Philip and Aunt Marva for inviting us over.

Golfing with Grandpa

Grandpa came to visit on his way to Idaho Falls for Christmas. He got here Friday night & left this morning. We love having him come to visit. After we went to Wendy's for lunch we all went minature golfing Saturday afternoon at the indoor minature golf course. My dad is always so generous to us! He took me to Costco and bought a few things, paid for lunch & for golfing. We wouldn't have much under our tree this year if it weren't for him! Thanks grandpa!

Mike Ran So Fast We Didn't See Him Cross The Finish Line!

So my crazy brother decided to run in the St. George Marathon. He's been training for the last 4 months and had a goal of under 4 hours. (His real hopeful goal was 3 hours 45 minutes)!
None of us saw Mike cross the finish line. We were all there watching for him and we didn't see him. But unbelievably Brian caught part of Mike crossing the finish line! There he is in a white shirt with #2655 and his head cut off by an umbrella. Brian only took about 10 pictures of the finish line and Mike happened to be in one of them! Way to go Brian.
Look at that smile! Mike was beaming after he finished line!
Enjoying his post race massage!
Still beaming!
With his official time of 3 hours, 37 minutes and 56 seconds! Easily beating his goal.
The rest of us in the freezing cold rain watching Mike get his massage.
It was only the second time in the history of the St. George Marathon that it rained. My kids were freezing because I didn't tell them to grab sweatshirts.
Mike's #1 Fan Club.
Brian was behind the camera so we decided he needed to be in a picture too.
Wendy and her kids made a cute poster for Mike. .Who would have thought it need to be laminated because the rain would make the marker run.

Way to go Mike. We're proud of you!
