I love Sundays!

Seriously Sunday is the best day of the week. No friends, no video games, no regular TV, naps, quiet, kids playing together, reading, church movies...

Today we watched Veggie Tales: The Lord of the Beans. Since we like the Lord of the Rings if was really funny to watch this spoof. I love the humor:

Instead of Bilbo saying: I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Billyboy says: I'm twice as tall as half of you and half as short as twice of you.

Instead of Orcs there are Sporks:
Unnatural creatures forged by Scaryman himself. Half spoon, half fork.
Sporks. They are his utensils. And they do his bidding.

You can't help but laugh. Ok maybe you can watch it without laughing but we couldn't. I highly recommend it for any Lord of the Rings fans who have kids.

Forever Strong

Forever Strong is a great movie! It's on sale at Deseret Book for less than $20 and it is totally worth buying. Great message and great entertainment. Too bad every high school coach isn't more like Coach Gelwix.
What a great man!
"It's not about rugby, it's about young men. It's not about building a championship team. It's about building championship boys, boys who will be forever strong."

There is even a great site called Missionary Strong.

I loved the Gelwixims that were featured in the special features of the DVD.

GELWIXISMS
Gelwixism Gel-wix-ism (Noun): an inspirational phrase from the mouth of Highland Rugby Coach Larry Gelwix

“Good decisions don’t make life easy,
but they do make it easier.”

“The true test of a man is what he will
do when no one will know.”

“The essence of a lie is not the words you choose,
but the message you convey.”

“If you lose your integrity, you’ve lost everything.”

My advice: Go buy this movie!!!

Memorial Day Weekend

The Washington County Board of Realtors offered free movie tickets to go see Night at the Museum 2 this morning. I love FREE! They even gave us $15 in gift certificates for snacks but being the cheapo that I am we'll use those to go see another movie at the dollar theater next week. It was a fun movie that everyone enjoyed.
What a great guy! I suggested to Brian that we should go on a bike ride Monday for Memorial Day. All 6 bikes had flat tires! Gotta love living in the desert where there are prickers everywhere. Brian has been hard at work repairing flats on all the bikes so we can go on a bike ride Monday. Thanks Sweetheart, I owe you one!
All this fun has left Kylie exhausted. She crashed on the way home from getting new inner tubes for the bikes and is still out. It's going to be a late night.
Shaun & Callie are in town for Memorial Day weekend. They have all the kids off playing tennis. But first Shaun checked out our new boat.

Though None Go With Me

Confession: I love sappy, sentimental, heartwarming movies. I stayed up way too late last night watching one of them. About 9:00 Brian and I started a movie. We were just going to watch the first 45 minutes of it then go to bed. But it was really good we stayed up to watch all of it. It was a great movie with a great message. There is so much garbage out there to watch it was wonderful to watch something clean and uplifting. Totally worth watching and I highly recommend it. It's a hallmark movie but they currently have it in Redboxs.

Date Night

Brian & I have been trying to go on a weekly date. Although we find it easier to go out in the afternoons most of the time.
Today we went to Olive Garden for a late lunch. We had a $25 gift card so we could eat for free! Free is good especially in this Real Estate market. But what do you eat at Olive Garden that doesn't have white sugar or flour? Not much! I did enjoy my Chicken Caesar Salad with no croutons and dressing on the side. Brian got my favorite... Fettuccine Alfredo!

Afterwards we rented the movie Eagle Eye and came home and watched it on our Clear Play DVD player. I love our clearplay DVD player. It cleans up all the sex, language and graphic violence. If you don't have one you should get one! Seriously they are so worth it. We enjoyed the movie. There was obviously a lot of language cut out and I don't know what else we might have missed due to editing but what we saw was good.

A Great Movie - The Christmas Shoes

Last night we watched a family movie together. This was a great movie with a great message. I definite tear-jerker that is worth the time to watch. A great Sunday movie!

Wall-E

After a round of haircuts for the boys we went to Wendy's for a late lunch and then hit the dollar theater to see Wall-E. Note to self - the dollar theater is now a $2 theater :-(
So no offense to anyone who loved this movie but it was really boring. I did enjoy the last 20 minutes or so. It just didn't hold my interest and I kept checking the time wondering how long the movie could be.
On the positive side Wall-E the robot was cute and reminded me of the droids on Star Tours at Disneyland and the people on the ship and their lifestyle were pretty funny.
