Thanksgiving Geocache.

Seeing as I knew I'd be eating too much and needed to exercise I suggested a family hike on Thanksgiving morning. Brett wanted to go geocaching so we found the location of a few geocaches and headed out in the rain.
Things started off nice but after a short time the rain started falling and the location where I thought the geocache should be did not match up with the coordinates we input into the GPS.
Don't be deceived. This smile won't be around for very long. Kylie only lasted a short time before she melted down and wanted to be carried and then wanted to go home!
The geocache said it was on top of a hill between 2 rocks. The location the GPS lead us to was not on top of a hill.
Can you say frustration? A screaming child, wet cold rain and no success at finding the cache.
Maybe we'll have better luck next time. At least we got some exercise.

More Geocaching!

For New Years Day we went Geocaching again. We found 2 more today. One up in the hills to the east of us and one on the way to Wal-mart. We attempted to find one at the duck pond but no luck since it was getting dark and it was cold - so we'll try that again another day.

Geocaching

We had our first family adventure going Geocaching today. Brett got a GPS for Christmas (grandpa got a really nice GPS crossover for Christmas). After a trip to Wendy's for lunch we found our first cache by a Flying J. Then our second one by the kids' school. We looked for a 3rd that was supposed to be at the park by our house but no luck finding that one. We may have found a new family adventure. Although Kylie was sad we didn't really go on a hike since we started with easy ones by the road. Grandpa took her to the park but she still wanted to go on a hike on the mountain. For being only 2 years old she has an opinion!
