Memorial Day

Memorial day found me dropping Brett off for EFY. What a blessed morning it was. We arrived a little early and pulled up at the same time as Janee Warr. We were waiting in line with her when the boy behind us in line said he thought Brett was one of his roommate. Ryan Banner from Fruitland, Ut had arrived the night before and knew one of his roommates was named Brett. After visiting for half an hour and then checking in we learned that indeed he was in Brett's dorm room. We got Brett settled in Kimball Hall in Heritage Halls and then I took Ryan, Janee and Brett out to lunch at Taco Time. After lunch I left Brett at his dorm room for what I hoped would be a fabulous week at EFY. It was so nice to have had a chance for him to meet one of his roommates so I wasn't leaving him not knowing anyone. He was bummed that his friend Hayden from WA couldn't go this year.I then headed back to Shaun & Callie's house and we loaded up to go swimming at Veteran's pool in Provo.

After a couple hours of swimming we loaded up and headed north to visit Tim & Kristen in Idaho Falls.

Happy Memorial Day

All ready to go on our bike ride. What a perfect day. It was in the 80s. You don't get that nice cool weather here very often this time of year. It's usually really hot out but it's only supposed to hit 90 today.
Bradley is ready to go balancing without his feet on the pedals.
We went over 6 miles but I really don't know how much further than that. We took the trails to Brian's office. It's about 3 miles each way driving but the trails take you to the west and then you cut back to the east so I don't know how far we actually rode.

The kids all did fabulous and were real troopers. We had no wimps or whiny butts on this trip! I was the slow one but wouldn't let Brian take over on my bike since having Kylie on board makes for a really good workout I was really needing!

We came home and had a water balloon fight. Bradley, Kim & I spent at least a half hour filling up balloons this morning and it took less than 5 minutes to burst all of them.

We're heading off to see Race to Witch Mountain at the $2 theater (assuming it isn't sold out). Then we are having our neighbors the Penders over for a BBQ tonight. It's been a great Memorial Day!

Memorial Day Weekend

The Washington County Board of Realtors offered free movie tickets to go see Night at the Museum 2 this morning. I love FREE! They even gave us $15 in gift certificates for snacks but being the cheapo that I am we'll use those to go see another movie at the dollar theater next week. It was a fun movie that everyone enjoyed.
What a great guy! I suggested to Brian that we should go on a bike ride Monday for Memorial Day. All 6 bikes had flat tires! Gotta love living in the desert where there are prickers everywhere. Brian has been hard at work repairing flats on all the bikes so we can go on a bike ride Monday. Thanks Sweetheart, I owe you one!
All this fun has left Kylie exhausted. She crashed on the way home from getting new inner tubes for the bikes and is still out. It's going to be a late night.
Shaun & Callie are in town for Memorial Day weekend. They have all the kids off playing tennis. But first Shaun checked out our new boat.

Days of Camelot

We celebrated school being out with a trip to In N Out. We've only been to In N Out once because it's not cheap to feed all of us. Burgers, Fries & Shakes all around adds up fast but boy are those Double Doubles good!
Then we went out to the Washington County Fair Grounds to Days of Camelot. Overall it was definitely a disappointment. If we had paid to get in I would have felt completely ripped off. Fortunately Shauna had given us a free family pass so it only cost us $1 for parking and we got more than $1 worth of entertainment.
Kim & Bradley were able to make rope.
Brad, Kim & Kylie made beads.
Bryce, Brad, Brett & Brian got to shoot a bow & arrow.
Other than those activities & the jousting exhibition everything cost money and was mainly just vendors trying to sell the same stuff you can buy at Santa's workshop or the Dicken's Festival. I was expecting a lot more things to do and a lot more to look at. However since it was free it was worth it.

Thank goodness for the jousting or the night would have been so not worth it! Despite really crappy sound which made it nearly impossible to hear what King Arthur & Lancelot were saying it was still great entertainment. Nothing like seeing those lances hit someone and Lancelot even got thrown off his horse.

If anyone does not know... Brett loves chess! He had fun watching others play chess and was pleased to report that he could have checkmated someone in the live chess game if he was playing.
Thank goodness for the playground. It was free!

The weather was perfect for St. George in May. There were clouds in the sky which kept it cool and just a few raindrops.

We are the meanest parents ever. We wouldn't let Kylie go on the bounce house or the slide. At a price of $4 for one trip down the slide I don't care how cool it was that is a rip off! While Brian was distracted I watched her take off running towards the bounce house. She was disappointed that even after crying for a long time we still wouldn't give in and let her go on it.
We ended our family fun night by heading home to watch Eragon.
