It's hard to narrow it down to just 8 things but here's an attempt:

  • Going on a Cruise with Brian
  • Having breakfast with Stephenie Meyer
  • Brian had his best year in real estate ever
  • Losing 25+ lbs.
  • Traveling to Forks, WA with fellow Twilight fans
  • Going to Disneyland & California Adventure
  • Having a snow day in St. George
  • Getting to take 2 trips as a family to N. Utah

So what are your Top 8 of 2008?

MERRY CHRISTMAS 2008

Most of our Christmas cards are sitting in a box on the dryer, copies of our family picture are sitting above my desk and the stamps are in my purse. But that is as far as I am going to get this year. I had good intentions to get Christmas Cards mailed this year but I'm giving up!
2008 has been a good year for us. We've been through a lot of ups and downs but that is how life is supposed to be. As the title of this blog says... It may not be easy but it sure is worth it. Much of the good of our year is captured in the pages of this blog so I won't attempt to summarize it. We have been truly blessed and are grateful for good friends and a loving family. We are blessed to be members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We pause today to remember the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ, how lucky we are to have such a loving elder brother who was willing to come to earth and die for us. We are truly blessed and have so much to be grateful for!
Merry Christmas.

Habel Family Christmas Letter

2007 Habel Family Update

Brian
Brian is serving as Young Men's President in our ward. He has a dozen boys in his quorum. The calling keeps him busy but he usually enjoys it. From teaching to scouting to duty to God to meetings to putting up flags there is always something needing his attention. He loves the young men in the ward and enjoys serving them.
Real Estate is definitely up and down this year. Our market which was one of the fastest growing with prices that were skyrocketing through the roof took a dive. We're hoping for a recovery in 2008. The Lord has blessed us with enough for our needs and we are truly grateful for our home, healthy and happiness.

Kathy
I finally gave up on scrapbooking. I never intend to do it again. I try to post pictures to this blog at least several times a month and that is good enough I finally decided and it beats having pictures sitting in a box that never get seen.
Brett says I am "Twilighted". His word for my obsession with Stephenie Meyer's Vampire book series. Yes I admit I spend way too much time on the Internet but there are advantages too. I've lost 15 lbs in the last 2 months as a result of my Twilight addiction! I'm planning and looking forward to a trip to Forks, WA with my crazy friends who are just as obsessed as I am.
I'm still active on the PTA and Booster Club at the Elementary School. I was thankfully finally released from scouts last month after 3 1/2 years. I'm currently the nursery leader and still on the activities committee at church.

Brett

Brett's love in life right now is the computer. That kids has taught himself so much it is amazing. He truly speaks "geek". His favorite thing to do is work on websites. His newest one is:
http://www.zektecgames.com/
Click on it to make his day since he likes to track visitors to his site! If I drag him off to one more merit badge clinic he'll probably shoot me. The only reason he puts up with it is that I tell him he'll really want to drive when he turns 16 and he's not allowed to drive unless he has his Eagle!

Bryce

Bryce recently started as Rocking Rudolph in his school choir concert. There are often a half dozen boys around our home all his age. School comes easily for him and studying is never needed to pull of his nearly perfect grades. He broke both bones in his arm at Lake Powell this summer and required surgery to fix the problem. Thankfully except for scarring from the pins he is totally healed. He is in 4th Grade and has a fabulous teacher.

Kimberly

Kimberly will turn 8 in less than 2 months and is excited to get baptized. She is a very compassionate girl who brings us a lot of smiles and joy. She loves to draw and jump on the trampoline. She is or drama queen who can turn her emotions and tears on and off faster than anyone. She's a great babysitter for Kylie and even though I leave Brett & Bryce "in charge" I tell her to keep track of Kylie.

Bradley

Bradley is our big kindergartner. He loves to play on the computer. For Christmas all he wants is 2 computer games....Alice Greenfingers and Platypus. I've asked him if he wants anything else but he tells me no, he'll be happy if he gets those 2 things. He's an easy going kid who is really fun to listen to when he gets talking. You can't help but smile at him!

Kylie

Kylie is perpetual motion. She has so much spirit stuffed into her little body. She can single handily mess up the office in about 30 seconds. She loves The Little Mermaid and insists on wearing a Little Mermaid Pull-up. If not then Little Mermaid underwear over her diaper. She'll watch The Little Mermaid from sun up to sun down if I let her. It's a good thing I am her nursery leader since she won't stay anywhere without me, so I'd be in there with her anyway.

2007 has been a good year for us. We have been blessed in so many ways. As always we are grateful to have been born in this free country into homes that have the gospel. We love you our family & friends and wish you a Merry Christmas!
